Nature’s Unsung Heroes

The Brief

This was a self-directed university project. I wanted to change people's behaviour and reduce negative feelings towards insects.

The Idea

Use the visual world of postage stamps to demonstrate how insects may be small, but still play a vital role in making the world go round.

The Execution

Nature’s Unsung Heroes.

A collection of six illustrated stamp designs featuring Britain's most ‘disliked’ insects.

The illustrations were painted from macro photographs, with colours amplified to make them appear realistic, but friendly.

The collections ‘First Day Cover’ designs took the form of seed packets, with specific information about the benefits that each insect has to the planet.
